Subject: [Peace] To anyone who "talked back" to counterprotestors--you know who you are--DON'TIF YOU CANNOT RESTRAIN YOUR WORDS, YOU ARE MAKING TROUBLE FOR US, NOT FOR THEM. SO PLEASE DON'T COME.
If I see this happening, I will go to the police and the news media and tell them "That person's not with us," and I will make that clear. And you might as well join the counter-protestors because you're helping them, not us.
So when is Karen going to denounce this woman as not being part of her group? Most likely never, since this woman IS part of her group. Notice the sign she carrying emblazoned with the website United for Peace and Justice. Keep that thought in mind as I discuss the next installment of the Karen narrative.

Subject: West Chester Counter-protestors part of NATIONAL (not LOCAL) Intimidation Effort
I have maintained for the past few weeks that
(1) The counter-protestor group has more behind it than just a disgruntled individual who doesn't like our peace vigils;
(2) We might never know the whole story - unless either the police or a journalist did some hard digging.
Well, it happened this morning, folks. A young, mild-mannered Daily Local News reporter, Justin McAneny (thank you, Justin!), spilled the beans this morning in the paper. All he had to do was go up to a counter-protestor (who's been there for weeks) and ask him a few questions - Chris Hill.
We give soldiers a voice by standing up for them” said Chris Hill, national director of operations for the Gathering of Eagles, a nonprofit organization that supports American troops.
This is the same group that allegedly beat up a Gold Star father - someone tipped me off about this weeks ago, but I did not feel ready to share that information with all of you till I knew more - now I know more:
Let me fill my readers and my lurkers in on the fine details of this allegation. My industrious videographer buddy was fortunate enough to capture the scene of the alleged attack moments after the police broke it up. You can see the alleged gold star father is in pristine condition. You can just hear the description of the alleged gold star father jumping the veteran from behind - @1:51 in this video.
Chris Hill, who's been on our corner for 3 weeks now, is NATIONAL - he's the same Chris Hill Bush "entertained" at the White House. He's also the same guy who came up and took both my hands, looking into my face and sarcastically saying a whole lot of stuff (polite word) to me 3 weeks ago. He's been on our corner for 3 weeks now. This stuff isn't localNational is a description that can also be to the CCpeacemovement. Without the benefit of a crack Daily Local reporter to do all the difficult research, I've discovered Karen's advertisement of her weekly peace protest listed on the website of United for Peace and Justice. An Anti-War Coaliton consisting of more than 1300 local and national groups.
I've been aware of this advertisement after my first visit to Courthouse. Apparently, Karen has no qualms about aligning her peace protest with a National Anti-War organization, but takes offense when Rich Davis reaches out to The Gathering of Eagles. I smell hypocrite in the air...don't you.
Screen capture - a fun little function I've discovered on Paint Shop Pro IX:
Who is UFPJ?
United For Peace and Justice (UFPJ) is an anti-war coalition consisting of more than 1,300 local and national groups joined together "to protest the immoral and disastrous Iraq War and oppose our [American] government's policy of permanent warfare and empire-building."
The Co-Chair and principal leader of UFPJ is Leslie Cagan, an original founder of the Committees of Correspondence (a remnant organization created by the American Communist Party upon going out of business) and a strong supporter of Fidel Castro since the 1960s; Cagan proudly aligns her politics with those of Communist Cuba. The L.A. Times noted that United for Peace and Justice aided in fundraising efforts for Medea Benjamin's trip to Fallujah where she delivered more than half-a-million dollars in aid to “the other side”.
The breadth of UFPJ's agendas extends well beyond anti-war activism. Passionately anti-American, this group condemns virtually every aspect of U.S. foreign policy and domestic life.
UFPJ has received financial support from the Colombe Foundation, the Samuel Rubin Foundation, the Shefa Fund, the Tides Foundation (1), and the Town Creek Foundation.
1. During the years 1995-2001, the Howard Heinz Endowment, which Heinz Kerry chairs, gave Tides more than $4.3 million. The combined Heinz Endowments (composed of the Howard Heinz Endowment and the Vira I. Heinz Endowment) donated $1.6 million to establish the Tides Center for Western Pennsylvania, a Pittsburgh office of the San Francisco-based Tides Center. SOURCE
